TW Engine

This engine allows you to develop applications that have a web front-end but in turn are mini web servers. This means that the application can provide remote access via HTTP. Because you use scripting to develop the application and web pages to give a user interface, the results are extremely dynamic and professional.

To aid in development the Engine has a built-in debug feature and only requires a text editor to build the solution. The scripting runs the application but also the application web pages can contain application side scripts that dynamically enhance the pages.

What Can Be Done?

Using the Engine you can develop nearly any type of application. As a solution provider for the Auto ID Industry, Belgravium partner Trakware have used the Engine to develop a number of data collection solutions including Work In Progress and Spread Spectrum RF control applications.

Acting as a mini Web Server means that remote Dial-Up allows external access to production information and easy up-date using FTP. Using the objects available to the application script, it can collect data into a local database and then dial up head office to up-date a central system.

Development

With the Engine installed, software developers do not need any other development tools to create Engine applications. The Engine enables collaboration on solution, by allowing parts of the different elements to be worked on separately. Using the Engine you can also build scaleable solutions by using the built-in web interface for a single environment and remote browser access for multi user solutions. The Web front end means that the users can hyperlink from one Engine to another seamlessly. Each Engine dedicated to a different task.

To extend the engine the developer can create references to external objects and then use them to add additional functionality to the solution.
